The Rural Revolution: Teachers declaring independence from national unions

The National Education Association (NEA) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) actively promote agendas and priorities at odds with the values of those they claim to represent. 

However, many teachers, particularly those in rural areas, often feel the actions taken by the national unions are out of step with their communities and irrelevant to local concerns.
