CIE President Russ Brown: Not so Fast on the Faster Labor Contracts Act
It's not often the U.S. House will skip a committee hearing to advance a piece of legislation. Unfortunately, that's what happened with the Faster Labor Contracts Act (FLCA), a bill that would insert government bureaucracy into America's labor market.
In a recent op-ed, the Center for Independent Employees (CIE) president Russ Brown explains how the FLCA would be the first step toward European-style sectoral bargaining, where government bureaucrats, not employers and employees, set the terms of working relationships.
America was founded on the principles of freedom and voluntary exchange. The FLCA would remove that right from employees and employers, setting a precedent for even more government interference down the road.
