Happy 250th, America: Our Fight for Freedom Continues

The average national constitution lasts just 17 years before it's rewritten or replaced. The U.S. Constitution is the longest-lasting governing document by far (about two centuries longer than the closest competitors)!

Not all constitutions are made equal. And not all are written to protect the people being governed.

Unions have "constitutions" too. But a union's constitution is typically built to entrench its power, not limit it. Most include detailed procedures for disciplining members who step out of line. Almost none require the union to prove that it still has employees' support.

The Center for Independent Employees exists to help those employees fight back and win their independence wherever a union no longer has their support. We do that through full, on-the-ground decertification efforts, providing legal guidance to employees each step of the way.

As we celebrate our country's 250th anniversary, it's worth remembering how important it is to keep fighting for our freedom. Our mission is to do that one workplace at a time, helping employees to be truly independent.

Happy birthday, America!
